First Christian Church

The Kool Kids will be sponsoring a “Souper Sunday” food drive to benefit local food banks. So on Sunday, February 7th, bring your cans of soup, crackers and other non-perishable food items and put them in their baskets as they pass them around in the narthex, before and after the church service.

If you are 2nd through the 5th grade and are looking for something fun to do, mark your calendars for February 5th and 6th as the Kool Kids, Children Fellowship is planning a “Lock-In” at the church.   We will meet at church at 6:00, Friday evening for supper, fun games, a movie, snacks and other fun surprises. We will sleep over and have a light breakfast before your parents pick you up between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m.   Bring $5.00, a can of soup or non-perishable food item for our service project, your sleeping bag, pillow, pajamas, change of clothes and other personal hygiene items. Leave your electronics at home. Please call or email Deb Carpenter if you have questions and to RSVP. Please RSVP as I need a head count to plan food. My email is debcarpenter131@bellsouth.net.

The Bible Buddies and the Kool Kids will join together for the Christmas party. They will meet at the church at 2:00 on Sunday, Dec. 20th and travel by the church van to the McWane Center for a Polar Express Pajama Party. There they will watch the Polar Express on the IMAX screen and have hot chocolate and cookies with Santa. The cost will be $10 for kids and $12 for adults. They will return by 6:30 to the church. All parents and siblings are invited, and yes the children may wear their PJ’s. Please RSVP to Deb Carpenter through the church office.

TAN Fall Festival.

Our youth group meetings will begin at 5:30 with our snack supper, cooked by Mack Carpenter, at 6:30 still for $2.00. Our line up of sponsors this year are as follows: Julie Williamson & Virginia Nall - The Bible Buddies (4 years - 1st Grade) Deb Carpenter and Pat Deaton – The Kool Kids- (Grades 2-5th) Donnette Mee and Mary Pat Spencer. - Chi Rho and CYF- Edd Spencer- an adult class. We look forward to another exciting year in youth ministry.
